Common 4 types of ceilings

Time:2022-05-06 Views:3018

Dropped ceilings
is produced by Ceiling Making Machine, which are an architectural design element used in commercial and residential buildings. They are created using a metal grid system that uses a series of wires to hang below the ceiling or roof deck.

The grid is then filled with a ceiling mainly made of a mineral fiber mixture. These ceilings offer ease of maintenance and come in a variety of styles to suit any builder‘s needs.

Exposed Grid

The exposed grid variety is the most common type of suspended ceiling. They consist of long metal strips calledpowers that are interconnected with shorter pieces of metal called tees.

The headers and tees together form a grid system of 2‘ x 2‘ or 2‘ x 4‘ squares, which are then filled with acoustic ceiling tiles. These exposed grid systems feature a standard 15/16" wide metal frame around each tile, but wider and narrower versions are also available.

Hide Grid

Hidden grid system uses acoustic tiles is produced by Acoustic Tiles Making Machine, which can hide the grid system. This creates a sleek, clean look that many find aesthetically pleasing. The tiles used in the concealed system have a small groove on their perimeter that slides over the power and tee to cover them. This type of system is more expensive than exposed systems and can make it difficult for maintenance personnel to access areas above the ceiling.

Hanging drywall ceiling

Instead of using metal grids, some ceiling systems use wires and hangers to hang drywall panels below the ceiling. These systems are a simpler alternative to the extensive framing and hat-shaped channels typically required to create drywall arches or ceiling structures. Slabs of suspended drywall or panels can also be hung below the ceiling for acoustic or aesthetic benefits.

Tile Type

When choosing tiles for a suspended ceiling system, there are several options. Buyers can choose tiles with a high texture or a completely smooth finish. While off-white tiles are the most common, there are many other colors available, as well as tiles printed with designs and patterns. In hospital and clean-room environments, mold and mildew resistant tiles can be used. Finally, the sound absorption level of the tile is usually chosen, especially in schools and other large commercial applications.
